Tygart Lake State Park is a cozy, quiet getaway for couples and families. It sits among West Virginia’s rolling hills and alongside 10-mile long, 1,750-acre Tygart Lake.
It’s also perfect for small group conferences and retreats and is a favorite spot for family reunions.
Tygart Lake visitors enjoy great fishing and boating (seasonal) on the mountain-stream fed waters of the lake. Tygart Lodge overlooks the lake and offers some of the most comfortable and appealing guest rooms in West Virginia’s renowned state park system. In addition to the lake, Tygart features five hiking trails, camping, a restaurant offering tasty down-home favorites and original local fare, as well as two gift shops.
Tygart Lake State Park Campground is open from mid-April through October weather permitting. Our campground offers 14 electric sites and 26 standard sites for a total of 40 camping sites.
Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Water is located at the center of the campground and the sewage dumping station is located nearby. The centrally located bathhouse offers hot showers and toilets for campers. Reservations are accepted by mail, phone, and walk-ins. See Reservation Policies below. Bagged ice, firewood, snacks and other amenities are for sale at the check-in station.
