Directions:
From Asheville: Take I-40 Westbound to Exit 27 US 74. Take Exit 74. Follow Highway 441 North through Cherokee until you enter the Great Smoky Mountains Nationals Park. As soon as you enter the National Park, turn right onto Big Cove Road and follow the signs to River Valley Campground and Store.
From TN: Take I-40 Eastbound to US 74. Take Exit 74. Follow Highway 441 North through Cherokee until you enter the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As soon as you enter the National Park, turn right onto Big Cove Road and follow the signs to River Valley Campground and Store.
Or from Gatlinburg /Pigeon Forge, TN, you can also take the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Road over the mountain. This is a very scenic drive but has some very steep grades. Once you come down the mountain, just before Cherokee you will see Big Cove Road on your left, Turn left and Follow the Signs to River Valley Campground and Store.
