Access for OHVs to 1,100 acres of sand dunes. Climate has strong marine influences with cool summers and moderate winters. Northwest winds in summer with fog. Southwest winds in winter with heavy rainfall.

The Sandlake Recreation Area is popular and busy with off-highway vehicles especially on weekends. There are 3 developed campgrounds: Sandbeach (101 sites), East Dunes (51 sites), and West Winds (20 sites). Day use parking at North Winds. Camping and parking on sand is allowed. Fees required at all areas. All motorized vehicles on sand must adhere to Oregon OHV regulations. Visit www.oregonohv.org for OHV requirements.

Night riding curfew, midnight to 6 am. Porta potties required for sand camping.
