About: South Ruby Campground is located near Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge in northeast Nevada, 75 miles southwest of the town of Wells, elevation 6,000 feet. Pinion and juniper trees cover the site, offering limited shade. Ruby Lake is visible from the site and offers excellent bird watching, fishing, canoeing, and seasonal waterfowl hunting. Hiking and seasonal deer hunting are popular area activities.

This campground contains numerous single-family sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilets and garbage service are provided. A fish cleaning station is located on-site. Roads and parking spurs are gravel.

Directions: Take I-80 to US 93 south. Exit at Wells and follow US 93 for 30 miles to SR 229. Follow SR 229 for 15 miles then head south on SR 767 and County Road 788 for 30 miles to the campground.
