About: With the high price of gas finding camping in San Diego is more important than ever. Lake Cuyamaca has added more tent camping sites and a group campground for RV camping. It is no longer hard to find a place for camping and fishing in San Diego. Lake Cuyamaca also has mountain cabins, condos and boat rentals.
The new group camping area is located near one of the prime freshwater group rv campingfishing spots in San Diego. We are now taking reservations for the new RV group camp located in the Over flow area. The area is set up for a total of 8 rigs but has a minimum of 4. The rate is $200.00 a night for all 8 sites. Can be rented by singles if not reserved. !!!! For those of you who have been to Lake Cuyamaca it is at the yellow gates above Lone Pine that you read about in the fishing reports. seven new tent camping sites are also in the same area. These areas are considered primitive with only a group water site, porta potty and you must bring your own BBQ.
Directions: The fastest way to Lake Cuyamaca from Los Angeles, if you are South of the Garden Grove Freeway (22), is to take I-5 South to I-805 South to I-8 East to Hwy 79 North until you come to the lake. It takes about 2 hours from Santa Ana. Otherwise, take the 91 or the 60 or the I-10 East to I-15 South to Hwy 79 South at Temecula. The lake is 9 miles South of the town of Julian. Once you leave the freeway you are an hour away. The best way from downtown San Diego is to take Interstate 8 East to State Hwy 79 North until you see the lake. Once you leave the freeway you are 15 minutes away.
