The legendary Beartooth Highway begins near this KOA in south-central Montana. Called “the most beautiful drive in America” by travel correspondent Charles Kuralt, the road winds for 69 miles past glaciers, alpine lakes and towering peaks in Montana and Wyoming to Yellowstone National Park. Ringed by 28 peaks more than 12,000 feet high, the view from the Red Lodge KOA is almost as spectacular. Choose a tent site or one-room cabin along a sparkling clear stream. In Red Lodge, the renovated 1880s mining buildings now house gift shops, galleries and restaurants. Celebrate July Fourth with the Home of Champions Rodeo and Parade. Attend the Festival of Nations, Mountain Man Rendezvous and other summer festivals.
