Little Yellowstone Park is located 4 miles south and 1 mile east of Kathryn. The park is nestled in the hillside along the Sheyenne river and is on the Sheyenne River National Scenic Byway. There is a small spring fed stream that runs through the park.
There is ample shade throughout the park and plenty of campsites, some of the sites have electric hookups. Some of the nicest sites are located in the upper portion of the park. They do not have electricity, but provide seclusion and are perfect for tents and small campers.
There are trails all along the stream and three walking bridges. The park also provides spring water that some say is the best water in the state. Little Yellowstone is a very clean and well maintained park and has always been a favorite picnic spot for many.
