Waxmyrtle Campground is located approximately 7 miles south of Florence. Located at the entrance to the campground is the Waxmyrtle Trail. This trail borders the picturesque Siltcoos River Estuary, and ends at the beach. Outstanding views of the lower estuary and ocean highlights this trail. Posted signs caution that portions of the estuary are protected snowy plover nesting areas. Please respect the birds’ habitat. Also nearby is Lodgepole Day Use Area. This site offers a large grassy picnic area as well as a launching point for your canoe or kayak into the Siltcoos River.
Many sites in Waxmyrtle Campground are private with beautiful coastal shrubbery surrounding them. Camping is available here year round. There are both reservable and first come first serve sites. Reservations are taken from May 1 through September 30 in sites 2 through 29. You must bring your confirmation letter to the campground. Do not leave home without it. Display letter on vehicle dashboard.

Directions: From Florence travel 7 miles south to the Siltcoos Beach Access Road. Turn west on Siltcoos Beach Access Road and proceed 1 mile west to Waxmrytle Campground.
