About: The Coleto Creek Park and Reservoir, located midway between Victoria and Goliad, is a joint project between Coleto Creek Power and the GBRA. At normal pool elevation it covers 3,100 surface acres with 61 miles of shoreline. The main purpose of the reservoir is to serve as a cooling pond for the Coleto Creek Power coal fired power plant. The reservoir is fed through four major creeks from a 507 square mile drainage basin. The average depth is eleven feet and the reservoir maintains at a constant level.

Directions:
From Austin: Take State Highway 183 to Cuero. From Cuero, take State Hwy. 87 to Victoria, then State Hwy. 77 to State Highway 59 South, toward Goliad. Cross Coleto Creek Bridge (about 10 miles outside of Victoria) and go about two (2) miles. On the right, a brown and white highway sign will direct you to “Coleto Creek Reservoir & Park.” Turn right onto Coleto Park Road, and go about 1/4 mile to the park entrance. Check in at the two-story Spanish building.

From Corpus Christi: Take either State Highway 181 or Interstate 37 to State Highway 77 to Refugio. In Refugio, take State Highway 77A to Goliad then State Highway 59 North toward Victoria. Coleto Creek Park is about 13 miles from Goliad. On the right, a brown and white highway sign will direct you to “Coleto Creek Reservoir & Park.” Turn left onto Coleto Creek Park Road, go about 1/4 mile to the park entrance. Check in at the two-story Spanish building.

From Houston: Take State Highway 59 South toward and around Victoria, following the Laredo & Goliad signs back to State Highway 59 South. Turn right onto Highway 59 South and go six (6) miles. On the right, a brown and white highway sign will direct you to “Coleto Creek Reservoir & Park.” Turn right onto Park Road, and go about 1/4 mile to the entrance. Check in at two-story Spanish building.

From San Antonio: Take State Highway 181 to Kenedy. From Kenedy, take State Highway 239 to Goliad. From Goliad take State Highway 59 North toward Victoria. Coleto Creek Park is about 13 miles from Goliad. On the right, a brown and white highway sign will direct you to “Coleto Creek Reservoir & Park.” Turn left onto Coleto Creek Park Road, go about 1/4 mile to the park entrance. Check in at the two-story Spanish building.
