From Panguitch, take US 89 about 7 miles, then take Scenic UT-12 southeast about 10 miles. Turn south at Sevier River Road (Forest Road 087) and go 7 miles to Tropic Reservoir. The campground is on the west side of the lake.
8000 ft elevation. 37 campsites near Tropic Reservoir, and a group area which can accomodate up to 150 campers. The group area has a horseshoe pit and a volleyball court.
OHV enthusiasts use this campground as a home base for accessing the miles and miles of nearby ATV trails, including the East Fork and the Fremont. Hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians appreciate the easy trailhead access to the Great Western Trail. Anglers can test their skill either in the lake or in the East Fork of the Sevier River, which forms the reservoir. Bryce Canyon National Park is about 12 miles away, on FR 087.
