Stanton Creek Lodge was established back in 1932 as a tourist stop selling huckleberries and it had a small grocery store, cafe’ and cabins ($7.00 a night without electricity, water or heat), but it boasted two outhouses.
Since then several owners, some of questionable character, allowed drunken clientele to ride horses through building and bullets flew, both at passing trains & inside the bar. The original floor is in place and bullet holes can still be seen.
Stanton Creek is one of the last of a dying breed of old Montana establishments. Today we have modern cabins, running water (hot and cold) fresh linens, electric heat and full RV pull through hook ups. Fishing awaits only 300 yards from the lodge and bear, deer, elk and other critters pass nearby.
Stanton Lake trail head is next to the property and is only a one mile hike. In 15 minutes you can be in Glacier National Park on scenic Hwy 2 where no fishing license is required with part admission. (catch and release) so bring your fishing gear, hiking boots and be amazed by Glacier National Park. We are family owned and operated.
