Rough River Dam State Resort Park is surrounded by rolling countryside overlooking a 5,000 acre lake.
Enjoy the unspoiled beauty surrounding a 64-site campground, next to Rough River. Utility hookups, a dump station, and a central service building with showers and rest rooms are available. Pets are allowed if restrained. Open for season from mid-March to mid-November.
Rough River Lake is the perfect location for the water sports enthusiast. The marina offers 121 open slips, 29 open houseboat slips, 48 covered slips, a launching ramp, and rental pontoon boats. The avid angler will delight in the abundance of largemouth, white, and Kentucky bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rough fish. Enjoy the gentle waves of Rough River Lake on the public beach, serviced with a bathhouse. The Lake Ridge Trail, a one-mile nature trail along the shoreline, links the lodge, marina and cottage areas. This is a great trail for bird watching and offers beautiful lake views. For a quiet walk in the woods, the Army Corps of Engineers maintain a self-guided interpretive trail, the Folklore Trail which is a 0.7 mile loop and includes an old pioneer cabin.
