About: Clearwater Campground is located along the beautiful Shoshone River and HWY 14-16-20, just 32 miles west of Cody, Wyoming, and 25 miles east of Yellowstone National Park, at an elevation of 6,000 feet. The Campground offers excellent opportunities for group camping, picnicing, fishing, wildlife viewing, scenic driving, river access, and solitude for campers seeking reprieve from the crowds at Yellowstone National Park.
Clearwater Campground has 11 walk-in campsites, and 1 reservable group area. The group area reservation includes sites 9, 10, and 11 to provide an overnight stay opportunity for larger groups. Each campsite provides a picnic table, fire ring, and a bear proof box. The group day use area provides private parking, 3 triple capacity picnic tables, 2 bear proof boxes, and a group fire ring.Firewood for gathering is abundant in the area. Vault toilets and bear proof dumpsters are centrally located throughout the campground.
Caution! The Shoshone National Forest is home to one of the most abundant grizzly bear populations in the lower 48 states. All food, beverages, and odorous attractants must be stored unavailable to bears inside of a hard sided vehicle or in the bear proof box provided at your campsite. On site campground hosts can provide you with more information regarding bear safety, campground regulations and area attractions . Garbage must be properly disposed of in bear proof dumpsters, not in campfire rings.

Directions: Clearwater Campground is located 25 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park, and 32 miles away from the full service gateway community of Cody, Wyoming.
Follow Sheridan Ave. west through Cody until the road leaves town, and becomes U.S. HWY 14/16/20. Clearwater Campground is located 32 miles west of Cody, along the south side of U.S. HWY 14/16/20, next to the North Fork of the Shoshone River.
