About: Snug Harbor is a peninsula situated off Ryer Island, about 10 minutes from Rio Vista. From Rio Vista one would use the Rio Vista (also called Real McCoy) Ferry to reach us by crossing the Sacramento Deep Water Channel, or the J-Mac Ferry on Steamboat Slough. For those with very large RV’s who visit us, or those shy of using one of the two ferries serving the island, there’s a bridge onto Ryer Island at the north end, accessed by Courtland Road off Hwy 160.

Directions: For Bridge onto Ryer Island: From areas north of the Delta, such as Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, etc: Take Jefferson Blvd (Hwy. 84) off Hwy 80/50 coming from Sacramento area south or west into the Delta. Jefferson ends at Courtland Road. Turn right and follow Courtland road as it travels west then comes to Ryer Ave headed south (left) to the “Miners Slough” bridge. When you see “Oxford Road” on your left you will know you are coming to the Miner’s Slough bridge. Cross this bridge onto Ryer Island.
After you cross bridge, turn LEFT even though the signs point right for Hwy 84 to the Rio Vista ferry. Drive down the levee road about 7.3 miles to Snug Harbor. (We’re a mile past the J-Mac ferry) The water should be on your left side. When you get to Snug Harbor, there will be a sign on the right side of the road indicating a left turn onto Snug Harbor Drive. Its very obvious during the daytime that you are at Snug Harbor, but at night there are not street lights on E. Ryer Road, so if traveling at night, remember Snug Harbor is between one and two miles south of the J-Mac/Howard Ferry landing. Follow Snug Harbor Drive to our gate, going 5 miles per hour along Snug Harbor Drive.
