This campground is located along the shore of East Lake with several of the sites close to the shore and the rest within easy walking distance to the beach area. It is the largest campground in Newberry Caldera and offers bird watching, bicycling, sightseeing, and canoeing. The Newberry Crater Trail #3958 and other connecting trails are accessible from the campground.

The campground is large and can accommodate over 100 camping groups. It is an ideal site for those hauling trailers as it has ample amounts of long pull through sites, but it also has plenty of sites perfect for tent campers and RV campers. This is a campground though that is seldom full even in this popular area, and is great for the last minute camper.

Fees: Per night, per site fee: Regular site: $16/first vehicle; $8/each additional vehicle. Recreation Pass Site – Vehicle Permit – $5 Day Pass; or $30 Annual Pass or other valid Recreation Passes. Dump Station: $10. (2011)

Directions: From Bend, travel 23.5 miles south on Hwy 97, then 17.6 miles east on County Road 21, and 0.5 miles north on Forest Road 2100 700. Cinder Hill is the last campground that you come to on the road past Paulina and East Lakes in the Newberry Monument area.
