miles east on Forest Road 8N50 (Salt Springs Road), and ½ mile east on Forest Road 7N08.

Car top boat launching available at Salt Springs Reservoir. Access to the water is difficult. Boating is hazardous when windy (usually in the afternoons).
Hiking in Mokelumne Wilderness (permit required for overnight use, year round). Permits available at Carson Pass Information Station (summer only) and the Amador Ranger Station. The trailhead is at Salt Springs Reservoir.

No Reservations. Sites are available on a first-come,first-served basis.

Restroom cleaning is provided mid-May to mid-November. No garbage service. Pack it In, Pack it Out
There is no piped water at the campground. Water from the river is available but should be boiled before using. Water quality testing is not performed on open water sources.
OHV use is not allowed in the campground. OHVs must be trailered to staging areas and authorized routes in the Bear River Reservoir area.
Please keep family pets on a leash at all times.
Use only dead and down wood for your campfire.
Make sure your fire is dead out before leaving. Please use water only (not soil).
