Big River Campground is located close to Sunriver, OR. It is a great place for a summer outing and spending time on the Deschutes River. A group site, located across the road from the main campground, is reservable.

Boat fishing or drift fishing is the best way to catch fish; motorized boating is not permitted. The water is Class II flatwater up to about 6 miles below Sunriver, where there are a number of dangerous falls.
There is a boat launch within this campground.

This campground has easy access just off the road. The sites are large, but there is nothing that would draw someone from far off to this site since it isn’t nearly as spectacular as some of the other campgrounds nearby, but for Bend area residents, it is the perfect place to get away from it all without having to travel very far. Quite often you will have much of the campground to yourself. It is a perfect place to launch a canoe, kayak or tube to travel down the Deschutes River. For those who would like a spot for a family reunion or scout overnighter, the group site across the road from the main campground easily holds a group of up to 40 campers.

Fees: Per night, per site fee: $10/first vehicle; $5/each additional vehicle. Group Site: $30. (2011)
