This campground is next to the Little Lava Lake, the source of the Deschutes River. There are opportunities for fishing, canoeing, swimming, and hiking. There is a boat launch area within this campground.
Little Lava Lake Campground is close by Lava Lake, but the lake is smaller and sometimes referred to as Deschutes Pond. A flow of lava lies along the west shore, dividing Lava Lake and Little Lava Lake. The lake is popular with fishermen and often the same campers come back year after year. The Lava Lake Resort next door to the campground is nice. There are several sites that are ideal for tenters right on the water front.

Directions: From Bend, travel 38.4 miles southwest on Cascade Lakes Hwy (46), then 0.7 miles east on Forest Road 4600 500, and then 0.4 miles east on Forest Road 4600 520.
