The campground is located on a small hill overlooking the Crescent Lake. Yurts are now available at this campground and are available year around. Crescent Lake Resort is just across the dam from the campground and offers a number of services including food, camping, fishing supplies, and boat rentals. This area is a typical Oregon summer recreation area which features Waldo Lake, Gold Lake, Odell Lake and Crescent Lake. There is plenty of camping all around the lakes. The Diamond Peak Wilderness trail can be accessed near the campground.

The campground is located right next to the Crescent Lake Resort which gives campers an advantage of a nearby bar-restaurant, a small grocery store, and boat rentals. In addition there is a good boat launch area and a scenic location. The nearby ski area is open in the summer for some activities and there is a small town with grocery stores and more as well at the turn off for the lake. This campground is one that is heavily used by boaters and family vacationers.

Part of the popularity of this campground is its resort type atmosphere and the fact that there are 3 yurts open summer and winter to rent as well. The yurts have a bunkbed with a double on the bottom and single on the top and a double fold out futon. It also has a table and a couple of chairs. There is a wood stove and often there is some wood left to get a fire burning. Bring your own bedding, lantern and eating essentials.
