Pioneer Ford is further down the river from Allen Springs. Each campground is more isolated as they go further from Camp Sherman. The sites here are shady in a mixture of pine and cedar trees. The campground is well-suited to RV’s. Area 8 has a picnic shelter. Pioneer Ford is one of the most popular of the campgrounds mostly because of the more isolated sites, but also because the sites are well suited to RVs. It is located six miles north of the Camp Sherman Store. It is located next to the Metolius River and this site provides access to fishing and hiking trails.
