About: Situated on the eastern side of the Toquima Mountain Range in the Monitor Valley. Fishing in Peavine Creek. Two trailheads with access to Arc Dome Wilderness at the end of Forest Road 020. The trail from Peavine trailhead leads up Peavine Canyon to connect with the Toiyabe Crest National Recreation Trail. The trail from Toms Canyon follows Toms Creek to the Toiyabe Crest National Recreation Trail. Hiking: trails lead to Mt. Jefferson in the Alta Toquima Wilderness Area and also to Arc Dome Wilderness. Places to visit are Arc Dome Wilderness, Alta Toquima Wilderness Area, Diana’s Punch Bowl, the towns of Belmont and Manhattan. Pets should be kept on leash.

Directions: To access the campground from Austin:
1. Follow US 50 East to the State Road 376 junction.
2. Turn right, and continue south about 0.1 mile, look on the left for a Nevada State shaped sign.
3. Turn left onto this road and continue east on Forest Service Road 001 over Petes Summit and down into the Monitor Valley.
4. At the Monitor Ranch, turn right on Forest Service Road 420 and continue south for approximately 13 miles to the State Road 82 and Forest Service Road 365 Junction.
5. Take the right fork and continue south on State Road 82 for approximately 15 miles to Forest Service Road 420.
6. Turn left into Forest Service Road 420 and continue south for about one-half mile to Forest Service Road 009.
7. Turn right and continue west for approximately 2.5 miles to the campground.
To access the campground from Tonopah:
1. Follow US 6 east to the State Road 376 junction.
2. Turn left and continue north for approximately 13 miles to the State Road 82 junction towards Belmont.
3. Remain on State Road 82 continuing north, through Belmont, to Forest Service Road 420.
4. Turn left and continue on Forest Service Road 420 to the Forest Service Road 009. Turn left and continue west into the campground.
To access the campground from Eureka:
1. Follow US 50 west to the Belmont Road turnoff (Forest Service Road 425).
2. Turn left and continue south to the State Road 82 and Forest Service Road 365. Stay to the right and continue on State Road 82 for approximately 15 miles to Forest Service Road 420.
3. Turn left onto Forest Service Road 420 and continue south for about .5 miles to Forest Service Road 009.
4. Turn right and continue west for approximately 2.5 miles into the campground.
