About: This rustic campground located approximately 7 miles north of Woodland Park at 7800′ elevataion has 18 campsites with parking areas up to 30′ long. 12 of the campsites can be reserved by calling 1-877-444-6777 or by visiting www.recreation.gov. The camping season usually begins in May and runs through early September. Located a short distance from Manitou Lake and the Centennial Bike Trail, Painted Rocks campground is an ideal getaway for families or singles. The lake is frequently stocked, weather permitting, and provides a great place to enjoy the great outdoors. Access to the lake is included in your campground fee. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There is water available in the campground as well as garbage dumpsters and valut toilets. While most sites have ponderosa pine shade, some are in full sun. The campground host has firewood for sale during the season.

Directions: From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Highway 24 for approx. 25 miles, turn onto highway 67 and travel 5 miles from Woodland Park to campground turnoff on left side of highway.
