About: Dumont Lake Campground has 22 campsites, with a good combination of pull-through and back-in sites. It is located 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs on U.S. Highway 40 near the base of Rabbit Ears Peak. The campground and picnic area are handicapped accessible. Dumont Lake is located at the picnic area, which is separate from the campground. The lake is restricted to electric motors or hand propelled boats only. The area offers spin and fly fishing in both lakes and streams, access to hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking on the many nearby dirt roads and trails. Camping limit is 14 days. The area borders on the Continental Divide and sits on top of the Park Range, offering spectacular views of several Colorado mountain ranges. Bird watchers and wildflower enthusiasts will find this area a paradise.
