About: Meadow Lake Campground is located 25 miles north of New Castle, off the Buford-New Castle Road (about a 1 1/2 hour drive). This campground is south of Meadow Lake. Fishing is available with a valid Colorado fishing license. This area is a popular ATV destination. No campfires are allowed by the lake unless in a designated fire ring. Meadow Lake Campground offers 10 campsites. Facilities include tables, fire grates, trash disposal, and a vault toilet. Meadow Lake fishing area has a boat ramp and a vault toilet. The day-use area offers 4 picnic sites with tables and fire rings. The fishing pier is wheelchair accessible. This is a fee use area.

Directions: From Rifle, head east 15 miles to New Castle. Take exit 105, turn left at the ramp and follow the signs into New Castle. Turn right at 7th Street (County Road 245). This is the Buford-New Castle Road and takes you north to Hiner Spring (about 22 miles). At Hiner Spring you turn right (east) on Forest District Road 601 and follow that to FDR823. Take FDR 823 south to the Meadow Lake-Meadow Campground.
