About: Big Silver group is a new facility built along the Union Valley Bike Trail in the Eldorado National Forest. The campground is situated in a Ponderosa pine forest on the north side of Big Silver Creek. Union Valley Reservoir is only a 5-minute bike ride from the campground. The paved trail stretches for several miles both north and south of the campground and is accessible by wheelchair. The facility has vault toilets, fire rings, group grills, garbage service and paved parking spurs (between 25-50 feet long). These meet accessibility standards. The facility does not have piped water or electricity. A store with a restaurant, gas, and phone is within 10 miles. The closest town is Pollock Pines approximately 25 miles away, or Placerville at 39 miles. For local information call the Eldorado Information Center at 530-644-6048.

Directions: Highway 50, go 21 miles east of Placerville and turn left on the Ice House Riverton road. Go 18 miles North. After you cross the Big Silver bridge, turn left into campground entrance.
