About: Greens Lake Campground is located next to pretty little Greens Lake, along Red Canyon Road at an elevation of 7,400 feet. Douglas firs, lodgepole pines, and aspens provide partial shade; summer wildflowers and grasses are plentiful. Fishing for rainbow and brook trout is very popular in the area, as is canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife watching. Red Canyon Rim Trail, for hiking and biking, begins at the nearby visitor center, which offers interpretive displays and information on the area. Red Canyon Lodge, with canoe and bike rentals, horseback riding, a restaurant, and gift shop is within walking distance on the other side of the lake.

This campground provides vault toilets, potable water, and garbage service. No electricity/water/sewer hookups are available. Each site contains a picnic table and fire ring with grate; some sites have grills. A group site is available, accommodating up to 40 people. Some sites have lake views.

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its beautiful red cliffs, but also for its world-class fishing. Lake, brown and rainbow trout fishing, boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir. River rafting on the Green River is spectacular, with red cliffs rising on both sides. Flaming Gorge Dam offers interesting guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; the adjacent visitor center has area history exhibits.
