About: Stillwater Campground is located 32 miles from Evanston, Wyoming, just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway at the confluence of Stillwater Fork and Hayden River, elevation 8,500 feet. Pines and aspens provide limited shade and summer wildflowers dot the area. Fishing is very popular on the waterways. Numerous hiking, biking, horse, and ATV trails crisscross this beautiful region.
This campground contains four group sites, three of which accommodate up to 50 people, while the other accommodates up to 25 people. These sites have large picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and parking areas. Single-family sites are also available with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. A day-use picnic site is located at the end of the campground road. Vault toilets and garbage service are provided. A campground host is located on-site; firewood is available for purchase. Roads and parking spurs are dirt.
Mirror Lake Scenic Byway parallels the Lower Provo River as it snakes across a portion of the Uinta Mountains, leading to numerous high alpine lakes and streams, countless trails, breathtaking scenic viewpoints, and various campgrounds. Fishing, canoeing, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, and biking are popular activities. The High Uintas Wilderness can be accessed via several trails along the byway.
