About: Whiting Campground is located in a thick, shady grove of maples and cottonwoods just 3 miles from the town of Mapleton, Utah, elevation 5,400 feet. A perennial creek runs alongside the site and summer wildflowers are plentiful.
This campground contains group, single-family, and equestrian sites. One group site can accommodate up to 100 people, the other can fit up to 200 people, both with large picnic tables, serving tables, BBQ grills, fire rings, and cement site pads. Single and equestrian sites have picnic tables, fire rings with grates, and cement site pads. Equestrian sites have hitching rails. Vault toilets and potable water are provided, but no garbage service. This is a âpack it in, pack it outâ site. Campers must bring their own trash bags. A campground host is onsite; roads and parking spurs are paved.
Maple Canyon Trail, for hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, and horses begins nearby, leading to a small network of trails with pretty mountain and canyon views.

Directions: From I-15, exit at Springville (Exit 260). Head east 2 miles to intersection of Main Street and 400 South. Turn right (south) on Main Street, staying in the right lane toward Highway 89/Price. Continue 2.3 miles to Maple Street. Turn left (east) on Maple Street/State Hwy 147 for .9 miles to Main Street in Mapleton. Turn left (north) on Main Street. Turn right (east) on 400 North. Drive east on 400 North for 2.7 miles to the campground.
