About: Dog Creek Campground is situated in a ponderosa pine forest on the banks of Dog Creek, just 4 miles from Pine, Idaho, elevation 4,600 feet. Summer wildflowers are plentiful; deer and hummingbirds frequent the area. The South Fork of the Boise River is just 1/8 mile away, offering rafting, swimming, and fishing for rainbow trout. Paradise Hot Springs is nearby.
This quiet campground away from the main road contains two small group sites that can accommodate up to 15 people each. 11 single-family sites are available as well. All sites have picnic tables, fire rings with grills, utility tables, lantern posts, and tent pads. Vault toilets, potable pressurized water, and garbage service are provided. Roads and parking spurs are graveled.
Numerous hiking, biking, horse and ATV trails begin nearby. The trailhead for 4.5-mile Green Creek Trail 270, for hiking, horses, and dirt bikes, is located just a mile from the site. Cross Cut Trail 172 begins close by and is open to hiking, biking, horses, and ATVs. Baumgartner Hot Springs is approximately 16 miles away with a soaking pool and nature trail. Kelly Creek Flats Recreation Area is adjacent to Baumgartner with several more trail opportunities.

Directions: From Mountain Home, take Highway 20 (at I-84 junction) east for 35 miles to Pine/Featherville turnoff (Forest Highway 61). Travel north on Highway 61 for 23 miles to the campground via an improved paved road.
