About: Rex Hale Campground hosts 30 open and spacious sites along the North Fork of the Shoshone River. Nearby attractions include Mummy Cave and Blackwater Trail.

The campground is named after a firefighter who died in the 1937 Blackwater Fire. You can visit the Firefighter Memorial located on the highway about 1.5 miles west of the campground. Forest Service Trail #758 will take you to the Firefighter Monument, marking the locations where the firefighters lost their lives.

Services include water during the peak season and amenities through out the open season include, vault toilets garbage collection and some sites have electric and water hookups.

Directions: Rex Hale campground is located along Highway 14-16-20, approximately 32 miles west of Cody Wyoming on the south side (left turn) of the highway. Coming from Yellowstone National Park, the campground is approximately 18 miles east of the East Gate of the park, (a right turn). Rex Hale Is located between Newton campground to the west and Clearwater campground to the east.
