Ibuprofen, Advil, Naprosyn, or some other over the counter anti-inflammatory
Tylenol for a basic pain reliever
Benadryl for allergies or skin reactions
Cleansing agent: Hydrogen Peroxide, alcohol, or betadine
Gauze of various sizes and shapes
Ace Bandage 4 – 6 inches wide
Arm Sling (the cloth type)
Antibiotic ointment (such as neosporin)
Magnifying glass (to see small slivers)
Cold and Heat Pack (The shakable/breakable kind)
Wound closure strips (aka butterfly bandages)
CPR mask (use only if you are trained in CPR)
Most good first-aid kits will have all of the above items in them. It is worth purchasing one and having it with you.
