Camping First Aid Checklist

Doing last-minute packing for a camping trip is often the greatest barrier to getting out and enjoying the outdoors. Forgotten essentials can turn what would have been a great trip into an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. Camping USA’s Camping First Aid Checklist will help you get on the road with all the essentials to ensure an enjoyable trip.

  • Ibuprofen, Advil, Naprosyn, or some other over the counter anti-inflammatory
  • Tylenol for a basic pain reliever
  • Benadryl for allergies or skin reactions
  • Cleansing agent: Hydrogen Peroxide, alcohol, or betadine
  • Gauze of various sizes and shapes
  • Medical tape
  • Ace Bandage 4 – 6 inches wide
  • Arm Sling (the cloth type)
  • Antibiotic ointment (such as neosporin)
  • Anti-itch cream
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Magnifying glass (to see small slivers)
  • Cold and Heat Pack (The shakable/breakable kind)
  • Non-stick band-aids
  • Wound closure strips (aka butterfly bandages)
  • CPR mask (use only if you are trained in CPR)

Most good first-aid kits will have all of the above items in them. It is worth purchasing one and having it with you.
